  • Account information: Email address, first name, last name (provided during registration)
  • Profile information: Bio, expertise, hobbies, company name, job title, social media links, profile photo (provided voluntarily)
  • Nomination data: Names and email addresses of individuals you nominate

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, push notification token
  • Usage data: Feature interactions (e.g., events viewed, RSVPs submitted)

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Precise location data
  • Contact lists or address books
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health or fitness data
  • Browsing history outside our Services

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide core functionality: Display your events, process RSVPs, manage your profile
  • Send notifications: Event reminders, invitation alerts, nomination status updates
  • Improve our Services: Understand feature usage to make improvements

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Supabase (authentication provider): Securely manages login credentials
  • Expo (push notification delivery): Routes push notifications to your device via Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
  • Cloudflare R2 (file storage): Stores uploaded profile photos

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Attendee Anonymity

House of Genius events maintain strict attendee anonymity. Our Services never display the names, photos, bios, or any identifying information of other event attendees. Only aggregate attendance counts are shown.

Data Security

  • Authentication tokens are stored securely (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore on mobile)
  • All network communication uses HTTPS encryption
  • Profile data is not cached to device storage
  • Push notification content does not include sensitive personal information

Data Retention

  • Your account data is retained as long as you maintain an active House of Genius membership
  • Device push tokens are deactivated when you log out or when they expire
  • You may request deletion of your account by contacting us

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (visible in your Profile)
  • Correct inaccurate data (via Edit Profile)
  • Request deletion of your account
  • Opt out of push notifications (via device Settings)

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through our Services or by email.
